Context matches in Heartsome 8 Ultimate

Heartsome Translation Studio 8 is available in four different editions: Lite, Personal, Professional and Ultimate. One of the key differentiators of the most expensive (list price: €598) edition, Ultimate, is support for context matches. This video shows how context matches work in Heartsome Ultimate edition 8.1.1, using the pre-translate function. Context matches are displayed with a 101% score and can be locked. Context is defined as identical preceding and following segment (unlike in SDL Trados Studio, where identical preceding segment is a sufficient condition).

This version of HeartSome costs almost 600 Euros and you seem to have all the other big names.

It must cost you an arm and a leg?

Actually, I “only” have licenses for Wordfast, memoQ and SDL Trados Studio (freelance). For other tools (eg. Déjà Vu, Heartsome, Swordfish etc.), I install trial versions in a virtual machine. For the virtual machine, I also use a trial: 90 days for Windows 8 Enterprise. Virtual machines are a semi-professional tester’s best friend 😉
