Set up Wordfast Server for Wordfast Pro 3 & 4 (2016 edition)

Wordfast Server is a Windows application (available as 32- and 64-bit) that can be used to share translation memories and glossaries between clients running Wordfast Pro, Wordfast Anywhere or Wordfast Classic. This video shows how to add Wordfast translation memories and glossaries to Wordfast Server, how to create accounts that include these memories and glossaries and how to add these accounts in Wordfast Pro 3 and Wordfast Pro 4.

It is worth noting the password field for translation memories and glossaries should be left empty (otherwise Wordfast Pro clients will not be able to write to them). However, the password field for accounts should not be left empty (clients running Wordfast Pro 3 will be able to access remote resources with a password-less account, but Wordfast Pro 4 clients won’t).

This video uses versions available as of early July 2016: Wordfast Server 1.0.14.716k, Wordfast Pro 3.4.8. and Wordfast Pro 4.8.0. Wordfast Pro 3 supports both remote TMs and remote glossaries, while Wordfast Pro 4.8 only supports remote TMs (support for remote glossaries should be added in the near future). This video (2016 edition) supersedes an older video (published in February 2013) on setting up Wordfast Server.
